Research!America and our partners encourage media to use Your Candidates-Your Health 2008 to inform your coverage of the 2008 election. Although this is just one of many sources available to you, our voter guide is the first such national resource to focus exclusively on health and research issues.

Fifteen years of Research!America public opinion polling show how important medical, health and scientific research is to Americans, including your readers, viewers or listeners. But just 11% of Americans say they are well-informed about their elected officials' positions on research.

You can learn more about the candidates' positions on these issues. If a candidate has not responded, you may be interested in asking why. We think you'll find this information useful not only now but also in the future to compare elected officials' actions with their stated positions here. Be sure to check this site for updates, including congressional candidates' positions on health and research, which will be added in 2008.
