All 2008 presidential candidates have been invited by mail and e-mail to respond to the Your Candidates–Your Health 2008 voter guide questionnaire. Candidates for Congress in November 2008 will be invited to respond to the questionnaire following the primary in their state or territory. Each candidate received a letter explaining the initiative and a copy of the questionnaire. They were given the option of responding by fax, mail, e-mail or online at a secure Web site, www.yourcandidatesyourhealth.org. Each candidate was assigned a unique password so that only they could access their online questionnaire. Candidates' answers will appear as they entered them online. Responses received by fax, mail and e-mail were entered in the online system as submitted. Candidates' responses were only reviewed for inappropriate content (e.g., profanity). Candidates were contacted and given the opportunity to edit their responses if any content was deemed inappropriate. Responses received from candidates who are no longer running do not appear on this site.
In addition to surveying the presidential candidates, Research!America and our partners commissioned a national public opinion poll in fall 2007, featuring questions similar to those we asked of the candidates.
